Congratulations to the Jefferson Hills Police Department for being awarded a grant for a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) due to the efforts of Officer Corey Brunetti.
Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Kenton Iwaniec was killed after his vehicle was struck by an impaired driver on March 27, 2008 on his way home from work. Trooper Iwaniec's parents started the Memorial Foundation with the goal of providing law enforcement officers with PBT units to aid in the envorcement of impaired drving laws. Mr. and Mrs. Iwaniec recently presented the device to Officer Brunetti.
The JHPD will utilize the donated PBT during not only road side DUI investigations, but also underage and public intoxication arrests. The JHPD would like to thank the Trooper Kenton Iwaniec Memorial Foudation for its continued support of law enforcement and for providing the JHPD with this important tool.
