May Council Meeting Agenda Notice
The May Council meeting agenda was posted to the Borough website today, April 26, at 4:00 p.m. The cell tower was placed on the agenda for discussion in an abundance of caution. Our solicitor is waiting to hear back from TowerCo in regard to certain requests, one being an additional extension. The Borough hopes to post a revised agenda within 24 hours of the meeting on Wednesday after we hear back from TowerCo.
 
May 2024 Council Agenda Meeting
The May Council agenda meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to attend in person, or watch the Facebook livestream of the meeting.

Residents may sign up for public comment at the meeting, or submit a comment to be read ahead of time. All submitted public questions and/or comments regarding agenda items will need to be received by 5:00 p.m. on May 1 to be read during the meeting.

2) Emailing your comment to publiccomments@jeffersonhills.net.

Summer Recreation Registration Link and Other Registration Information

The 2024 Summer Recreation registration link is https://jeffersonhillsrecreation.com/.

To streamline your registration experience on May 1st, we highly recommend visiting the link and setting up your account before May 1st.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
- Prior to May 1st, you can only create an account. Registration will open at 8:00 a.m. on May 1st.
- If you already have an account from 2023, it remains valid; no need to create a new one.
- When registering your child(ren) for this year's camp, indicate their grade as of May 1st.

 
Jefferson Hills Recreational Initiative Scholarship Application
The Jefferson Hills Recreational Initiative Scholarship was established to award two seniors, one male and one female, at Thomas Jefferson High School with a one-time $1,000 check made payable to the winner's post-secondary school.

Qualifications: 
  1. Jefferson Hills Resident
  2. Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  3. Proven commitment to community assistance
Application:
  1. General Information form completed
  2. High School Transcript
  3. 500 word essay: Describe in detail the impact you have made by helping in our community.
  4. One letter of recommendation from; a teacher, guidance counselor, coach, or director.

Stay tuned for the registration link, which will be shared across our social media platforms and featured on our website homepage in the coming weeks. When registering, please indicate the grade your child will be entering, not the grade they just completed.

Old TJHS Demolition
Demolition is underway at the old Thomas Jefferson High School. Fencing has been placed around the entire building and traffic patterns around the school may be altered. The public is asked to please all follow all posted signs. 
For the safety of the public, no one is permitted beyond the fence other than the demolition team. Enforcement action will be taken against any violators.
 
Solicitation in the Borough
The JHPD has been receiving calls regarding solicitors in the area. Remember that solicitors are required to possess a permit issued by the JHPD. Should residents have any concerns or feel uncomfortable with solicitation at their residence, please call 911.
Take a Moment to Familiarize Yourself with Ordinance 493:
1. 
No licensee shall solicit at private residences on Sunday, nor before 9:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m. prevailing time, on weekdays.
2. 
No licensee shall solicit at any private residence exhibiting a sign reading "no solicitors" or words of the same meaning.
3. 
Residents may erect "no solicitors" or similar signs not to exceed 120 square inches in size, which for the purposes of this Part shall be conspicuously displayed near their entrance walk or doorway.
4. 
Solicitors may solicit at business properties in the Borough during all business hours; and may solicit in Borough streets and other public places from 9:00 a.m. to sunset; provided that such solicitors obtain a license as required by this Part and they shall be subject to all the other provisions of this Part.
