Police Department

The Jefferson Hills Police Department is dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of the people we serve, by enforcing laws in an equitable and impartial manner and applying equal protection for all under the law, while enhancing the safety and quality of life in the community. We are committed to achieving excellence in law enforcement through our professionalism, integrity, compassion, and honor, while holding ourselves to a higher standard and accountability to preserve public confidence.  The department endeavors to maintain a proactive and innovative approach to reduce and prevent crime. We accomplish this by leveraging the latest technology, and fostering close relationships within our diverse community and our business owners, to achieve that goal.

The JHPD, which is led by Chief Ronald Dziezgowski Jr, includes 21-full-time police officers and 2-civilian administrative clerks, all of whom are highly trained to better serve you.  The Police Department is responsible for 24-hour community wide law enforcement protection and answers all calls for emergency police services.  In an effort to provide efficient and effective police services and continue to be progressive, while adapting with the changing needs of our community, the JHPD has strategically formed specialized divisions to better respond to those needs, which include:

  • Patrol Division
  • Traffic Division
  • Investigative Division
  • Administrative Division
