A primary focus of the police department is to deliver police services in a respectful, professional, and dependable manner. The police department consists of 20 full-time police officers, as well as a civilian support clerk. The main function of the police department is its Patrol Operations, where uniformed officers patrol the Borough 24 hours a day, predominately working three shifts. While a principle objective of the police department, and the patrol operation, is to safeguard lives and property through consistent and aggressive patrols, officers regularly supplement these activities with other proactive enforcement efforts. Finally, to further enhance public safety, the department strives to support the prevention of crime through innovative and proactive problem-solving techniques that foster collaboration with our employees and the community.
