Annual Fish For Fun Day 2023
The Annual Fish for Fun Day returns on April 15th, 2023! This catch-and-release event will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the intersection of Waterman and Peters Creek Road. This is a free event, but please be sure to bring a bucket and a rod. Bait will be supplied and over 350 fish stocked! Food and drinks will be provided. There will be a prize for the two biggest catches of the day. There will also be raffle tickets available for purchase for various prizes. Note: Anyone 16+ must have a valid PA fishing license with a trout stamp. All participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Get ready for a fun day of fishing!
Allegheny County Parks Foundation Input Meeting
Join the Allegheny County Parks Foundation on April 5th to discuss the creation of a trail connection between South Park and Jefferson Hills. This meeting will be held in the Community Room of the Borough building at 6:30 PM.

The Borough needs your help
The Borough of Jefferson Hills is kicking off a new plan for the community’s long-range future, and we need your help to decide what priorities it should include! Please visit to learn more about the project and click here to complete the questionnaire. This questionnaire will be very important to determining what the plan will address. Therefore, spending 15 minutes on to share your thoughts is an easy way to have a significant positive impact on our community.
Marcellus Drilling: Facts and Information
The Environmental Advisory Council will host a Marcellus Drilling Presentation scheduled for June 15th at 7:00 PM, and will be held in the Community Room at the Municipal Center, 925 Old Clairton Road.  This meeting will be in-person.  This presentation will feature speakers Dr. Alexandra Hakala and Dr. Ned Ketyer.

Dr. Alexandra Hakala is an Environmental Geochemist whose research interest focus on how chemical reactions can increase the efficiency of producing energy while minimizing environmental impacts, and how to monitor the sources of fluids and gases in natural systems.  Dr. Hakala is a current member of the Borough of Jefferson Hills Environmental Advisory Council.  She will present a technical overview of the well pad development and the local geology targeted for hydrocarbon resource extraction.

Dr. Ned Ketyer is a Pittsburgh-area pediatrician with special interested in developmental pediatrics, preventative medicine, and environmental health.  Dr. Ketyer is a consultant for the Southwest Pennsylvania Environmental Health Project bringing attention to the health impacts of shale gas development in the Marcellus Shale gas patch, a board member of Physicians for Social Responsibility - Pennsylvania, and a Climate Reality Project Leader.

Residents may sign up for public comment at the meeting, or submit a comment to be read ahead of time.  All submitted public questions and/or comments will need to be received by 5:00 PM p.m. on June 15th to be read during the meeting.

Jefferson Hills - A 2021 Banner Community
Once again, the Borough of Jefferson Hills has been recognized as a Banner Community by the Allegheny League of Municipalities (ALOM).  The Banner Community program "recognizes communities that show a commitment to professional development, prudent fiscal management, transparency, accountability, and proactive communications to engage community stakeholders.  This year, the Borough was one of 73 communities recognized.
