Construction Project to Begin on Scheinback Road (SR 3018)
Construction for the Scheinback Road (SR 3018) bridge, spanning Lobbs Run in Jefferson Hills, will begin on October 3 and last for approximately five weeks. See the following press release. 
Applications for Police Records/Communication Specialist being accepted by Borough
The Borough of Jefferson Hills is now accepting applications for a part time Communication Specialist in the Police Department. 
FREE FLU Shots to be Given to the Public on October 15
Flu Shots are for adults (18 and over) and will be given by the Jefferson Hills Areas Ambulance Association personnel on Saturday morning, October 15 from 11:00 a.m. to l:00 p.m. in the Municipal Center second floor near Library. 
Historical Society to Host Pittsburgh Author
The West Jefferson Hills Historical Society is welcoming author, Ken Kobus, to its September 28 meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Center community room. The public is cordially invited. 
Department of Environmental Protection and Allegheny County Health Department Mandate Unfunded Upgrades to Local Sewer Systems
The Borough of Jefferson Hills, along with adjoining municipalities, is being mandated  by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the Allegheny County Health Department to undertake multiple sewer modernization projects brought on by new environmental regulations and overflows (called discharges) from antiquated pipes. 
Annual "Spooktacular" Breakfast is planned by the Ladies Auxiliary Floreffe VFC on October 15.
Breakfast will be serve from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. -  Tickets are $6.00; children under 5 FREE; Seniors $4. All you can eat pancakes and additional breakfast foods included are sausage, fruit cup, juice/milk/water and endless cauldrons of coffee/tea! 
FEMA Awards Gill Hall VFD Funds for a New Truck and Equipment
Congratulations to our Gill Hall VFD for being the recent recipient of two grant awards from the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Program. One of the awards of $397,000 will replace the Department's 33 year old Engine. The other award of $26,000 will replace 10 sets of structural firefighting turnout gear.
