Volunteers to Provide Income Tax Preparation Help at Jefferson Hills Library

AARP Tax-Aide volunteers, who have been certified by the IRS, will give free tax preparation and assistance to low and middle income taxpayers at Jefferson Hills Library. They will assist with Federal, State of Pennsylvania and Local Tax returns as well as Rent or Property Tax rebates for those eligible.Hour long appointments are available at Noon, 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Mondays, March 5, 12, 19, 26 and April 2. Call the Library at 412-655-7741 or make your appointment at the Library main desk

Borough Council Reorganizes on January 2
Borough of Jefferson Hills Council reorganized on January 2, 2018. Magisterial District Judge Mike Thatcher presided at the swearing in of incumbents Mayor Janice Cmar and Council members Christopher W. King, Vicki Ielase, David Montgomery and Francis Sockman.

Mr. King was re-elected Council President and Mr. Weber was re-elected as Council Vice President. Congratulations to all and thank you for your service to our community!
Borough of Jefferson Hills Council Passes 2018 Budget
At the December 11, 2017 meeting of the Borough of Jefferson Hills Council, the members voted unanimously to approve the 2018 operating budget. The total General Fund Budget is $9,879,533 which represents a 2.8% increase over the previous year's budget.
PA Game Commission Announces Procedure for Removal of Deer Carcasses from Borough Roads
The PA Game Commission has hired a private contractor to remove deer carcasses along municipal roads in the Borough. This service is provided at no cost to the Borough as long as funding remails available. See details:    
Feasibility of Consolidation of Fire Services Study
The attached Feasibility of Consolidation of Fire Services Study was conducted by Nicholas Sohyda, Executive Fire Officer and Fire Services Consultant, by request of the Floreffe, Gill Hall, and Jefferson Hills 885 Volunteer Fire Companies and Jefferson Hills Borough Council.     
Borough Dumpsters Are Not for Resident Use
Residents are reminded that use of Borough dumpsters in our parks and Municipal Center parking lots are for Borough use ONLY.
