In July, Council voted to give the community the chance to elect a committee to investigate if home rule is the best choice of governance for Jefferson Hills (Ordinance 909.)

Those interested in potentially joining this committee must obtain a nomination petition from Allegheny County Elections Office and can circulate the petition between the dates of August 6, 2024 and August 27, 2024.

Due to the lack of agenda, the Borough of Jefferson Hills Recreation Board has cancelled their July meeting scheduled for July 17, 2024. The next meeting will be Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

Real Estate Tax Collector Josephine Lipnicky will hold Collection Days at the borough building this July and August. Collection day hours are 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Collection Days:
Thursdays: July 11, July 18, August 1, August 8, August 22, and August 29
Saturdays: July 27, August 17, and August 31

Any taxes not paid by December 31, 2024, will be turned over to the delinquent collector and fees will accrue. To contact Josephine, please call 412-226-2230.

The July Council regular voting meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 8, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to attend in person, or watch the Facebook livestream of the meeting.

Residents may sign up for public comment at the meeting, or submit a comment to be read ahead of time. All submitted public questions and/or comments regarding agenda items will need to be received by 5:00 p.m. on June 10 to be read during the meeting.
