Polling Places Survey and Public Meeting
Mayor Cmar and Council President Bucy are looking to gather information from residents pertaining to their polling places.  Polling places have been a pain point within the Borough for several years, and the information you provide on this survey will assist the Borough in having voting districts redrawn for future elections.

In addition, the Mayor and President will hold a public meeting on Monday, March 15th, 2021 at 7 PM to discuss a strategy to present to the County Elections Department regarding redistricting the polling places in the Borough.  Data collected from the survey will be used in this effort.  More information regarding this meeting will be released closer to March 15th.

To take the survey, please visit: https://forms.gle/FPuNgRCAyXPGZhku8

If you experience an issue with the survey, please reach out to Grace Duda at [email protected]

Note from the Mayor: COVID-19 Vaccination Phases for Pennsylvania

There are four phases to the distribution of the vaccine: 1a, 1b, 1c, and 2. Pennsylvania is currently in Phase 1a, which mainly includes health care workers and nursing home residents. The state health department will announce when we are moving to Phase 1b. Individuals in 1b include:

· People ages 75 and older

· First responders – our emergency personnel – police officers, fire personnel, EMS

· Correctional officers

· U.S. Postal Service workers

· Grocery store workers

· Education workers

· Clergy and other essential support for houses of worship

· Public transit workers

· Individuals caring for children or adults in early childhood and adult day programs

This list is not inclusive. The complete list is on the Health department’s website.  Individuals should check with their pharmacist or physician to see into which category they fall and possible target dates. Vaccination locations will be published by the PA Health Department. I’m going to receive the vaccine when I’m eligible. I strongly recommend, your health permitting, that all Jefferson Hills residents get the vaccine to protect one another in our community. Be advised that the COVID-19 vaccine will not be the cure for the virus. It will be another tool in the toolbox for our fight against COVID-19,?and we must continue to practice other mitigation efforts, like wearing a mask, hand washing, and physical distancing.

- Mayor Janice Cmar
